Oct 10, 17 and 24

Sorry about the lack of communication for this week (Oct. 3rd), but here is an outlook for the next three weeks.
October 10th is Thanksgiving weekend so we are looking to take the week off.
October 17th feel free to come over to the Sutcliffe's for 3:00.
October 24th we are heading to the Pumpkin Patch... place to be determined this week!

It was great to have our first meeting today. Looks like we are going to meet each Sunday at 3:00 at someone's place or head out to do an activity together. It was great to see the kiddies playing together and great to catch up.

Schedule for homes and activities will be handed out at church in the coming weeks.

Time to start again!

Hello all young families and young married couples of Sardis Community Church!
This blog is here to help organize us and keep us in touch. We will be posting where we will be meeting as a group and what we will be doing.
It looks like we will be meeting every Sunday at either someone's house or getting together for an activity. We will be having our first meeting on Sunday the 19th of September at the Heinrichs' place at 3:00. Here we will discuss where we want to go as a group and have a chance to catch up after the summer.

First chat about the book April 13!

Just a reminder that we are meeting once again at the Tim Hortons on Stevenson and Vedder at 7:30 to chat about being a mom as well as to talk about the book "Grace Based Parenting". We thought we'd all read the first two chapters, look at the questions in the back and then bring any discussion to the table when we meet on Tuesday.

Ladies Night!

Tuesday March the 16th is the first official Ladies Night! How does the Tim Hortons at Vedder and Stevenson sound? Does 7:30 work for everyone?

Sunday March 7th

Do we want to get together Sun? We could go to a park for the kids to play, go for a walk (I'll bring the stroller this time - I learned by lesson :) ) or we could always come here if we want. I'm not sure what the weather's suppose to be. Or if anyone else has ideas that's good too!

I was also wondering if we are still interested in meeting for a study? I think we had agreed on meeting Tues nights? Any ideas on how we want to decide on a book (if that's what we want to do?) Did we want to meet sometime to discuss it?

Activity for Sunday Feb. 21th

I am not sure what people are up to this coming Sunday, but I know that it is the Canada vs USA hockey game at 4:45. If people are interested, we could get a short walk in by the river before we sit in front of the the TV for the next 2 and a half hours?! If you are interested we'll plan to meet at the Peach road parking lot at 2:30 for a walk. Joel and I are planning to go rain or shine! Hope to see some of you there!

Thoughts for a study of some kind...

Here is a message from Laura about the ideas around a study of some kind. Feel free to post comments to help this discussion get going below or bring your ideas to church on Sunday.

We were wondering if Tuesdays worked for people. It allows the week to get started, and then it won't conflict with Wed. and Thurs. which I believe didn't work for everyone. Time wise, we'll put out 6-7/7:30pm so we can get the little ones to bed on time.

Topic wise, if people have any ideas of what they would want to get out of the Bible or book study, that would help re: to get a discussion going. We could aim for a topic around Christian living or raising a Christian family in today's world. I would have to do some research on what study books are available in that area - and then hopefully there is a book (or more if we are reading through a book) available for purchase. (are people willing to buy a book to read together - that's another thing to ask too!) Also, would people prefer to have one leader, or are people interested in taking turns on a weekly basis?

What do people think?

Activity for Sunday Feb. 7th

Just wondering if people would be interested in walking in downtown Chilliwack next Sunday around the time that the torch would be coming through? Might be neat to see it go by or be at the Prospera Centre to see it. What do people think?
